Standing On the Promises
Having Done All To Stand, Stand Therefore
by Debbie Mirander
So shall thy word be that goeth forth out of my mouth; it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
Lord I send out your word tonight. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in your sight, oh Lord my strength and my redeemer, In Jesus Name.
Let’s get into the word, and at the end I welcome any comments or questions.
Ephesians 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness. (It is not our own righteousness that puts us in right standing with God, it is only by grace that we are saved).
Isaiah 59:17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of
vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak.
(We must be in right standing with God)
(verse 16 God was looking for intercessors amongst Israel and could not find one, so his own arm brought salvation unto himself. And his righteousness sustained him.) This was a prophesy by Isaiah. And we see in Matthew Jesus coming to the rescue interceding for the people and saving the people.
And he still intercedes for us at the right hand of the Father today.
(verse 17 let us know that vengeance is the Lord. He is with us. and if He is with us then His righteousness that is in us. (The Holy Spirit. helps us to stay in right standing with God as we yield ourselves ) We can’t get away from this. The fruit of the spirit is a result of yielding to the spirit.
We have to depend on the holy spirit to keep us in right standing with God. Then promises are our to stand on and get results.
1 Peter 4:1 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happen unto you:
But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
This scripture is not an excuse to welcome trouble in our lives.
It is to encourage us to stand strong holding on to God’s word until his glory (His purpose for us) is revealed.
James 1:2-4 My brethen, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Count it all joy! This is not an easy things to do. Therefore we must solely depend on the Holy Spirit within us to bring out this joy. We have it in us because it is one of the fruits of the spirit.
Purposes of trial:
(Any trial whether physical, spiritual, financial, emotional, etc).
1. When we go through trials we will see that our character has been refined a little more.
2. It should bring us closer to God, because we have seen him work on our behalf in the
past. We may try to do some things in the natural, but it is ultimately God who will
3. For God’s glory to be revealed.(1 Peter 4:12)
Ex: But Jesus said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the
Son of God might be glorified thereby. (St. John 11:4)
That is why God gave us promises in the scriptures:
It encourages us to look forward for change in our situations. These promises are the things he so desires to do in our lives. They are for us. We just have to receive them in our lives.
Some of the promises of God for believers.
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion,
to give unto them beauty for ashes,
the oil of joy for mourning,
the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
and that they might be called trees of righteousness,
the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace,
whose mind is stayed on thee: because
he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord
for ever: for in the Lord JEHOVAH
is everlasting strength.
When you feel that your situation has gotten such a hold on you.
You feel bound. Things that seem to be happening over and over in your life. Use God’s word to bring to your remembrance that God has already rescued others from some of the most difficult cases. Read the histories in the bible of great conquests delivered out of captivity. And remember what he has done for you in the past.
But thus saith the Lord, Even the captives
of the mighty shall be taken away, and the
prey of the terrible shall be delivered:
for I will contend with him that contendeth
with thee. and I will save thy children.
Always expect something new to happen, and not the same results. We have to always expect change, expect a miracle to happen. Keep looking!
Remember ye not the former things,
neither consider the things of old.
Behold, I will do a new thing;
now it shall spring forth; shall ye
not know it? I will even make a way
in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43:18, 19
People may sometimes look at you and wonder why are you going through such tough times. But hold your head up high and continue to proclaim your God because those who trust in God will not be put to shame. God’s glory will soon be manifested in your life.
For it is with your heart that you believe
and are justified, and it is with your mouth
that you confess and are saved. As the
scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in him
will never be put to shame.
At times God will say to the devil, enough is enough and will come to your rescue with vengeance:
Two days of vengeance: One is the day of vengeance which is the second coming of Christ, when He will return to judge the earth (Isaiah 61:2). Another day of vengeance is when God’s children shall need deliverance upon the earth in this day in time. We look for our day of vengeance in the times of trouble.
Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm
the feeble knees. Say to them that are of a
fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold,
your God will come with vengeance, even
God with a recompence; he will come
and save you.
When you feel overwhelmed with different situations in your life, know that Jesus is there interceding on your behalf. He will not let the enemy overpower you:
So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west,
and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy
comes in like a flood, the spirit of the Lord shall lift up
a standard against him.
They overcame him by the blood of the lamb,
and the words of their testimony.
Mighty one of Jacob.
But upon Mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness;
and the house of Jacob,(YOUR NAME) shall possess their possessions.
This was a prophetic promise. This verse foresee a time when Israel would be restored to God. And according to God’s word everything the devil has stolen from us have to be restored back to us.
But if he be found (thief), he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house. (Prov. 6:31)
Health, finances, Joy, salvation (Our families, Israel), children (And seven of their friends)!
And (YOUR NAME) shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water
that bringeth forth its fruit in its season, my leaves shall
not wither, and whatsoever (YOUR NAME) do shall prospereth.
God’s Will for us:
I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
