Not all limitations are bondage, like I use to think. Because some limitations are for our own good. I remember pursuing different things. And when I pursued something with a passion. And spent more time on it than I should. I use to neglect the things that are important. Like cooking dinner. And I don't care too much for fast foods.
If God didn’t allow limitations, some might find it very hard to put God first. But there are lots of limitations that are not of God.
Financial- Poverty is not of God. It can limit how much we give to God's kingdom. We also need money to finance our goals and dreams.
Physical- illness or just not being able to physically do something. One example is being a women. We don't always have the physical strength needed to do something. Therefore we have to rely on someone stronger. Like the strength of a man or a friend that can come together with us to lift or build something.
And as women sometimes it’s even frustrating when there is something around the house or yard that we want done, but can’t do it and get the husband's favorite answer, “ Sorry I can’t do it right now”. Knowing that yes, he already has a lot going on. So we then have to wait until he has the time. And waiting is not always a pleasant thing to us. We want things done now!
Lets look at some limitations that are not of God.
Not enough laborers- Mathews 9:37 says, the harvest is plenty, but the laborers are few.
Bondage- Feeling like you are in a cage. Yes, the enemy has some in bondage where they do not even want to leave their homes become of fear of the unknown.
Demonic oppression- Oppressed by the devil in various ways such as sickness and disease, and mental torment. Oppression can come in so many ways. Then deliverance is then needed. Some deliverance will only come by prayer and fasting.
Lack of skills- We need skills to perform a job.
Lack of Prayer- We can limit ourselves and our ability to move mountains in our lives by living a life of prayerlessness.
Oh lord, let the anointing to excel in my spiritual and physical life, fall on me.
But having limits in our life makes us feel like being indispensible. And yes we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength.
But what will we do with the strength that God gives us.
Would we use it all to the glory of God, or will we do every and anything we feel we want to do. Because we can get caught up doing so many things in this world. And yes we live in the natural, and there is a lot of natural things to be done. But we must not forget about God.
In the face of limitations, we have to choose to see the things that we are not limited to do. We are not limited to praise our God, and to pray to our God. We are not limited in the promises that God has given me. The scripture says. that God has given us everything that pertains to life and godliness. His promises are endless. And also are not limited to hope. Hopelessness leads to depression. But our hope is in God and hope leads to faith.
So when you feel that your life is filled with ungodly limits, focus on the promises that God has for you. Focus on what you can do, and not what you cannot. Focus on what God can do for you. Feed on his word and his promises for you. And take the limit off of what God can do for you.
Ephesian 3:20 says, now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end.
Activating the power within us, helps us to receive the abundant blessings God has for us!
So jump start the power within you, by reading, and meditating on the word of God.
For faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God!
